I think Ponder fits their prototypical type of QB.

We're talking about his #1 QB on the board, right?

Reading the tea leaves I think the #1 QB on his board is Blaine Gabbert. At first when Miami lined up all these QBs they were going to talk to and visit with, Gabbert was not set to be on the list because they didn't think he'd be in play for them. Then they started to catch word that he could fall far enough to jump up. They'd already set dates with Cam Newton to that point. This points IMO to them having Gabbert as the #1 QB on their board. When Ireland mentions a contingency plan for moving up if a certain player falls far enough, I think he's talking about Blaine.

    For better or worse.

After that I'm not sure what his board looks like. I could see Mallett being high on it for the same reason Henne ended up high on their board. Same TYPE of player though Mallett obviously more talented.
i believe this. when i heard jumping up, i certainly wasn't thinking Mallett. I think Newton will be in play at 15 if not taken by carolina.

Ponder makes me wonder. If Ponder is a guy he likes at 15 then i hope to god he has a trade partner to move down.ditto malllett even though i do not think we are going mallett.

I'm going with a sleeper pick. We all know who their top QBs are possibly going to be.

If we are talking about late round picks, I think they take Josh Portis late in the draft.

I think they take 2 QB's in this draft if they trade down.

    Early: Kaepernick/Dalton.
    Late: Tyrod Taylor.

I think Kaepernick. Trade back, pick up a 2nd, & grab Kaepernick with our 1st, LeShore with the 2nd.
I RESPECT EVERYONES POINT OF VIEW & OPINION....REGARDLESS OF HOW WRONG THEY ARE

I voted for Ponder. He appears to be the most complete QB. He has the main attributes - intelligent, accurate, mobile, reads defenses, can move players (watch the senior bowl), and more intangibles.

I voted for Dalton because, well, why not. He's a backup QB and that's what this FO likes to draft; back up QBs.

Is anybody going to throw Jake Locker a bone

He does fit the profile, though he hasn't had a personal workout for the Fins.

I wonder what the reaction would be if we picked Jake Locker at 15 or in a trade down later in the first based on the results of this poll

I voted for Greg McElroy, voting for Ireland's most ideal draft scenario rather than the order on his board. I think Ireland would ideally like to trade back to the late 20's, gauge interest from those teams who passed on a QB in the first round willing to trade up to that spot, and then trade back again out of the first round. I could then see him drafting McElroy in the 5th or 6th and acquiring a veteran in free agency.
