I voted for Greg McElroy, voting for Ireland's most ideal draft scenario rather than the order on his board. I think Ireland would ideally like to trade back to the late 20's, gauge interest from those teams who passed on a QB in the first round willing to trade up to that spot, and then trade back again out of the first round. I could then see him drafting McElroy in the 5th or 6th and acquiring a veteran in free agency.
He better have a goddamn trade in place for Carson Palmer once the lock out ends if this is his strategy. I'm going to hold any disappointment I have if this happens until I see if Palmer is the target. If we don't get Palmer, and he drafted a late round scrub again, I'm seriously jumping on the fire this regime bandwagon. I've been neutral up until now, but this happening would be the last straw for me. I'm still optimistic that Ireland isn't dumb enough to do this, but if it happens I might go start punching some babies...

If I could take your pain and frame it, and hang it on my wall,
maybe you would never have to hurt again...

I want Mallett, but he probably likes a guy like Ponder.

I personally would rather have Orton if a veteran. I also think Ponder is a possibility if able to trade back to the late 20's. However, I feel that there are so many teams needing a QB that Ireland just might be offered a deal too great to pass up. I don't think there are any certain franchise QB prospects in this draft - more quanitiy than quality. If so, then trading back twice would mean the Dolphins could fill a lot of needs - 2 RB's, speed WR, OG, etc.
