California priest shows up drunk to baptism, church suspends him

A California priest has been suspended for showing up at a baptism so drunk he could barely walk.

Rev. Julian Medina shocked and outraged parishioners at All Hallow Church in Sacramento by turning up nearly an hour late for his service on Saturday. He could barely talk.

"There was an incident we need to deal with," said diocese spokesman Kevin Eckery who apologized to church-goers. "If he has a problem then we are gonna help him get help. That's what we do, we are in the help business."

The 64-year-old joined the church a few weeks ago but has been a member of the diocese since 1978, according to local news reports.

He was scheduled to baptize 15 children and at least 150 people were waiting for him to arrive when he stumbled in drunk.

To go through a Catholic service I'd have to be buzzed up pretty hard with a Steel Reserve.....In reserve in my backpack or something.
