Excuse my aggorance, then why is everyone in love with COD? I saw a tralier and some video and gameplay of Battlefield 3 and it looked great. Looks like the game for me.
COD is popular because it's simple. It's arcadish. Just the thing for kids and casual gamers, who make up most of the gaming community. For actual gamers though, a cookie-cutter shooter like COD just won't cut it. I usually end up buying since all my friends get it, but the enjoyment from playing Search and Destroy lasts about a month, and then it gets sold. Not enough substance. Which is why I've always preferred Battlefield. More so the actual Battlefield games than the Bad Company games, which border on being cookie cutters. I still play Battlefield 2 on the PC, and that game is 6 years old. Still the best multiplayer FPS I've ever played.

The vehicles, the huge maps, the focus towards teamwork, the focus on authenticity (as a huge OpFlash/ArmA gamer, I just can't go with realistic, so authentic it is), etc. It's just a much more enjoyable experience for me. I'm just hoping DICE doesn't disappoint me by making this game more of a Bad Company 3 than a Battlefield 3.

Oh and forgot to mention, DICE releases free DLC for their games. If you pre-order BF3, you get the Back to Karkand DLC which includes maps, vehicles, and weapons from the aforementioned Battlefield 2.
Just put my new video card in ready for BF3. Going to be epic.

Also on BF3, you can blow up buildings, walls, fences etc. hard to hide. Very realistic.

Definitely better than COD in my opinion. In fact, sold my COD less than a week after I got it. First game I ever sold the week I bought it, that's how bad it was.
