I know exactly how it went down:
Miss AD: "Houston, we're forcing you to resign at the end of the season."
Nutt: "You're firing me? Why?
Miss AD: "You lost to Kentucky."
Nutt: "Oh."

Once Orgeron's players were gone, they were done.
He'll find a job some other place.
Is Ole Piss ever successful at anything other than having a ton of hot co-eds?

Pretty much what Cedar said. Orgeron was a horrible head coach, but one helluva recruiter for Ole Miss. Houston Nutt had 2 good years with Orgeron's players, then fell to mediocrity. Nutt is a solid coach, but he is not a good recruiter. And in the SEC, you have to be a damn good recruiter and a good coach as well.
Honestly, if Ole Miss could've combined Orgeron and Nutt they would've been in good shape

The Best
Maybe Mike Leach or June Jones ends up there.
Pete Boone's gone too, and it's not like he was ever the easiest guy to work for, probably is what got Tuberville to leave.
