I have long held that Joe Namath belongs in the HOF, as he should. You cannot tell the story of the NFL without Joe Namath. That is my critera to HOF membership. He's also the poster child for sexual misconduct.....And I think as men, we have to respect that.

I honestly don't have a problem with him being in, I understand he is an icon, and I fully understand how monumental that SB was to making the AFC legitimate in a time when it was considered not.

I just have to mention:

IF Joe was not such a brash character, he would never ever be mentioned in HOF talks.
IF the Jests had lost that Superbowl, same thing. Nobody would ever mention him in HOF talks.

There are LOTS of past players that on play alone, have exponentially more merit being in the HOF that aren't.




Oh yeah, and your Mom probably wears Jest Underwear.....

Sure it was exciting and uplifting in its day, but from the retrospective of time, scoring 16pts under those circumstances in the 2nd playoff game was no big deal. This is especially true when you view a career distinguished by about a .500 record, a mediocre QBR and completion record and something like 20 more Ints than TDs.

Truth is, MANY QB's have blown his entire portfolio away yet are considered moderate QB's.

He had one game, that he boasted they would win, and they did. In Vegas that's breaking the bank. In the NFL I guess it parlays into HOF????
