Drew Brees. Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady.

No ground and pound there. Air it out and win Super Bowls.

It'll happen again this season as well. It'll continue to happen going forward until the NFL swings some of the rule changes back in favor of the running game. And the QB position dominates the NFL and I just don't see that happening.

    Upgrade your QB.

Brady hasn't won a playoff game since 2007 and the great Peyton manning has just one SB in apostseason he threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs in 4 postseason games. The Saints and Packers played the best in Jan/Feb the last 2 years, they are hard to stop but again just a year ago Pitt made the SB beating us on the ground and we have been to the last 2 title games. It's likely Brees or Rodgers will get another one this year but that doesn't mean this is a trend.

See? It's lines like this that gives you the spin meister reputation. JC said they won SUPER BOWLS, not playoff games, with a passing game. Just because Brady hasn't won a playoff game since 2007 doesn't change the fact that he lead the Patriots to a Super Bowl win with a passing game. And let's not forget, they did it THREE times.

Same thing for Manning. Just because he has bad playoff stats doesn't take away from the fact that he won a Super Bowl with a passing game. And just because Pittsburgh beat the Jets with a running game to MAKE it to the Super Bowl doesn't change the fact that they were beat IN the Super Bowl by a passing game.

He hasn't won since '04 and they win w/ a short passing game, an extension of the run game. The Pats have not won a playoff game since 2007- there's no spin that's a FACT. The man many of you consider the best QB of the last 15 years has barely won one and did so in a postseason he wasn't very good through the air.

Since NE last won a SB Pitt has 2 SB wins and the Giants have a SB win- both teams relying as much, if not more, on their run game than pass game.

since 2005 the only teams that were carried by a great pass attack in postseason to win were GB and NO the last 2 years.

Of course it is fact. But you are using facts to spin the conversation in another direction as to avoid saying JC was correct. And if you are referring to Manning as that "one man that barely won one", I most certainly do not credit him for being the best quarterback in the last 15 years. That honor belongs to Brady.

So, provided I looked everything up correctly, of the Super Bowls you mentioned (Steelers (X2) and Giants), Super Bowl XL is the only game where the winning team relied more on the running game than on the passing game. In yardage and in scoring. Otherwise the other two Super Bowls were pass heavy in yardage and scoring, and that includes the losing team.

The Giants and Steelers did not have dynamic passing offenses for their 3 SBs.

Maybe not "dynamic", but two out of those three Super Bowls, the yardage and scoring favored the passing game.
