Just say nooooo to Kevin Kolb. About the only available QB I would go with is Matt Flynn.

thanks for the thoughtful response. I guess when we lose all substance we resort to insults. The fact is that Kolb has shown that he is a franchise qb who, just like warner, can make receivers like Fitzgerald look like all pros. He was traded for a 2nd rounder and given a huge contract. That shows how much he was thought of. Did Matt Moore get that kind of contract? No. If you wanna win 5 games a year with a back up qb, fine. I have higher aspirations for this team. If Kolb was starting for us next year we are a playoff team. We lose nothing because we can plug in Reilly Reiff as our LT. I think its a no brainer

You must be high!!
I agree with the premise of this thread, but we really should get Tavaris Jackson instead. Now theres a dual threat QB we can build the franchise around.

You think he has a higher ceiling than Kolb? What's he ever done?

I wouldnt mind Jackson but Kolb has the much higher ceiling. You dont trade 2nd round picks and pay millions to non-franchise qbs. You just dont. Kolb is from Texas so you know hes tough. He elevated that team to relevance. I know andy reid is kicking himself that he wont have kolb next year. Again, what are we giving up? A LT that we replace with Reilly Reif and a backup qb in Moore. That for a 27 year old franchise qb thats already proven himself in the league. If he didnt get hurt he would of been a borderline probowler. Sign me up for that

Jackson is a dual threat. Immense upside. And have you seen the kid throw? My goodness its beautiful to watch. Maybe hes still a tad raw, but boy does Seattle have a bright future. Im jelly.

I'm quite leery about Matt Flynn, his limited sampling within an offensive system vs porous defenders, his LSU 7th round pedigree, etc, but given the 2 options, no disrespect intended since you're a good poster, my strong preference would be to go with what I don't know about Flynn what I already do about Kolb.

FWIW, the same friend who's a season ticket holder near the 50yd line who told me Pace was overrated is not too impressed by what he's seen so far of Kolb.
