I'm sold in the sense that he's got the best shot at succeeding than any of the other realistic options we have a QB this offseason.

That is, if Philbin signs off on the move.

He's proven it more than Luck and RG3.

They were better in college, sure, but Flynn has shown he can play well in the NFL

you don't have to be sold...its not your money...but if we were gonna take a chance given how little we have committed monetarily to the position this season THIS is the time to go for it...i don't even consider it that much of "taking a chance" if we have an out within a few years should he go belly up...hell we paid penny $6 mil per for 2 years and got less than 5 snaps from him in both seasons...

to me taking this chance at this point and time is a no brainer...not losing draft picks still able to land a high end player with our top 10 pick just guaranteed money to worry about which we can front load heavy in 2012...

no brainer...sack up and go for it
hoops scoops...prospects mia should target top 4 rounds 2013 draft...

If Philbin likes Flynn and has told upper management so, then by all means we should use a helicopter to drop obscene amounts of money through the hole in Flynn's house, similar to how the Fed would in the case of a money shortage at your local bank branch.

Totally agree. The Lions' secondary on a bad day is still better than any NCAA secondary that RGIII or Luck would have faced.

LOL. I love all those that say Flynn has done nothing and they are not sold on him and yet they want RGiii
Because RGIII will be a fraction of the money and can sit behind an established QB like Moore indefinitely, while Flynn will have to start from day one with overall talent vastly inferior to where he has impressed so far. We'll be stuck sinking or swimming with him for the next three years because of his contract, while RG III gives us the upside tomorrow with the option of sticking with a pretty well performing QB today. Win-Win.

i read camp reports from green bay during training camp that said things like rodgers would come out get his reps and the o would go right down the field and then flynn would come in to get his reps and the offense never even hiccupped...

    you kidding me...take the chance

thats not true...you take rg3 in the top 5 and you are gonna pony up $20 mil guaranteed in the deal even in this new cba...the kind of money flynn will command guaranteed which is the key word here if he signs a contract in free agency similar to kevin kolbs contract last year in zona...$21 mil guaranteed

Yeah, because a QB who went 6-3 in his last 9 games QB'ing a team that hadn't won a game in 7 before that, and who has also built chemistry and developed into a leader of this offense, couldn't possibly play better than a guy who has looked pretty good in a couple spots with the most talented offense in the league.

Cam Newton got 22 million last year as the number one overall, that was guaranteed but also his total contract. Flynn would be taking an extra 8 million a year in cap space (using Kolb as a baseline), which is almost twice what RG III would be getting total. That's a pretty fricking big deal, considering that's practically the cost of several starting caliber players a year.
