The '09 -'11 Jets Elite? Yea or Nay?

There seems to be some honest disagreement on whether the 09-11 Jets were an "Elite" team. Hopefully this poll will enable an objective consensus we can hang out hats on going forward.

Merriam-webster defines "elite" as "the best of class; the choice part, the cream; a group of persons who by virtue of position or education exercise much power or influence. Granted "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and just what constitutes the "cream" is largely subjective but let's make a go of it anyway:

Yet when you talk to another football fan and ask who is elite in the AFC East no one EVER says the Jets. Funny how that works.

If the Colts played Manning for the rest of Week 17, the Jets wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

Elite teams win the Superbowl. Your team did not. End of discussion.

It doesn't bother me at all. The Patriots are elite and that doesn't bother me. Why would the Jets being elite be an issue? We don't control what the teams we like are doing. I dislike the Patriots as any proper AFC East fan should but it's b/c of jealousy.

I think you asked the average intelligent football fan this question in january of 2011 they'd say we were elite, 2 years later and 2 missed postseasons can cloud judgement in this what have you done for me lately society but we were definitely an elite team overall 2009-2011.

SB champs win the SB, elite teams are the top teams.

Peyton rested for a qtr and a half in week 16, bad for them good for us. we took advantage then won 2 playoff games, sorry that bothers you.
