Not really sure why in today's day and age any running back would go in the top 10. Everyone screamed and screamed about Ingram being the best RB since Peterson blah blah blah. The fins are stupid for not taking him blah blah blah. 2010 it was Spiller, the year before that Moreno. This year's "OMG you have to take RB is Richardson". When will it stop.

I dont think anyone thought any of those backs were remotely close to being the next Peterson. Richardson is much closer to Peterson coming out of college than any of the guys you mentioned. RB tend to get a lot of hype, but Richardson's hype is legitimate. He can do it all and is probably the most complete back to come out this year.

Well I get the whole idea of getting a good RB later, but elite players still go top 10 regardless of position imo. Ronnie Brown, Reggie Bush, and CJ Spiller were not elite coming out of college, but were top 10 picks.

Unless im getting AP type of talent, i would never draft a running back in the first round.

    (1) NEVER take a RB in the top 5....
    (2) 6-15..still don't take a RB
    (3) 16-32...ok if you are drafting here and most
of your pieces are in place and you can get
a talent like AP or Trent...now is the time
I think a RB has value.

Yep. The guy can catch, block, run - he can do it all. And he played vs great defenses.

In today's NFL drafting a running back with a shelf life barely into his 30's just doesn't make fiscal or team building sense. Every year it seems that 5 months before the draft... there is some all pro stud running back who is going to go as high as AP and play like AP... then as the draft gets closer and closer... the seem to slip further and further down to the middle of the 1st round or to the end..... or in some cases out of it altogether.

You want to use the argument that he looks as advertised in college and will be the next adrian peterson? Ill sign up all day for that. Unless of course a franchise quarterback is "as advertised" or a pure elite pass rusher is "as advertised".. because in todays NFL, a great running back is a luxury, an all pro QB and pass rush is a necessity.

with all do respect to Richardson, who I love as a prospect, he is not on AP's level.
