First of all, the Colts arent passing on Luck. Second, even if they did want Robert Griffin, Miami would not be a trade partner because Luck and Griffin wont be available at 8 or 9 when Miami picks.

File this thread under pipe dream.
    What?

Colts take RG3 at #1, then we can trade for Luck with the Rams at #2.

    Duh?

No duh. Thats not what you said. You compared it to the NY Gianst and SD Chargers, where the team with the No.1 pick switched with a team with the No. 4 pick. If you didnt mean to suggest that Indy and Miami would be trade partners, then I suggest yo use a different example, like the Jets moving up to grab Sanchez.

Well this is the Dolphins so this will happen to us....we sign Manning or Flynn the Colts take RG3 leaving Luck up for grabs or we do not sign Manning and Flynn in hopes of getting either Luck or RG3 but that blows up in our face and we do not get either lol

This is almost certainly a negotiation tactic by the Colts towards Luck.
By threatening to take RG3 first it may make Luck more amiable to sit down and talk, because now there would be a threat to not take him. The Colts can negotiate with both players and play them off each other.
It is also way to stoke the embers from other teams to see what kind of deal they COULD get.

I wouldn't necessarily discount the possibility that Oliver, encouraged by his buddy Archie has already informed the Colts that he doesn't wish for his son to work a) for an unproven regime; b)for an owner who's an azzclown, c)for an organization that will turn their back on their franchise QB. Considering the PR ****storm awaiting the alcoholic owner, I can see where that kind of outside pressure plus the opportunity to keep Peyton by restructuring his contract to be more performance-driven, and having RG3 sit for a few years as his grasshopper indeed might make start to resonate out there in the heartland.

Let´s wait for the Combine, stranger things have happened, RGIII is as smart a player as I have ever seen and is elocuent as hell...and has all the physical tools. That being said, our QB situation might be solved way before the draft, so we might be looking for a young guy in the later rounds, some pass rush, pass catchers and OLinemen, instead of giving up the farm for the top 2 dogs...

I guess it is safe to say that there are a lot of people that still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Forget about getting a QB through FA or the draft, we have a franchise QB in Matt Moore!!!
