GM Raiders released CB Stanford Routt.

    Raiders released CB Stanford Routt.

It's not clear if the surprising move is for financial reasons or if Routt did something incur the wrath of the new regime. Routt had restructured his contract last August to five years and $54.5 million, an exorbitant number even for the team's top cover corner. Routt's contract was said to contain $20 million in guarantees over the first two years, so Oakland is essentially paying him not to play in 2012. The entire secondary must be rebuilt this offseason.

    Possible option?

Wow, I have no clue what the Raiders are doing over there with their secondary, but Routt would be great with Vontae. Might not be the wisest move to give a big contract to a cb though

He would probably want money, I doubt we try and sign him. Yeah Oakland is a complete mess all they do is ruin peoples careers.

I am all for bringing in a starting caliber cb and moving Smith to fs, Jones to ss, and cutting Bell. Would solve multiple problems

now if this the guy? I know very little about him. I do think we need to get a guy in here though as Smith as cb just does not work.

There is some bad rap coming his way from raider nation...but no denying he is very talented and a change of scenery may be what he needs because he is obviously very talented.
