How would we know? LOL such a random hypothetical... Would you want Dan Marino to be our QB coach? Or how about Chris Weinke? Maybe Peyton Manning when he retires?

No one that posts on a message board *really* knows anything about his ability to teach/mentor a QB - not like we have tape on that.

BTW, no I wouldn't want him as QB coach. He has nothing in his past that says he would make a good coach, unless you want to point to Henne?

I'm sure he'd be a smart, methodical dedicated teacher, but the question is, can he intellectually separate himself from his own checkdowns and accurate short passing game to exploit the strengths of a more physically talented QB? I'd think since he had some success serving as reinforcement for the way he did things, it might be easier said than done.

I dunno.. I'm twixt and tween on this.

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to contribute on the coaching level. He's played the position as well as, or better than, some other coaches out there.

That being said, I don't know if you just hand him a QB coach position. If coaching is something he really wants to do I think he'd probably need to hit up the collegiate level first? But maybe not.

Either way I'm pretty sure I read he wanted to coach highschool and younger kids who were in their formidable years and more impressionable. Something to the effect of him thinking he could have a greater impact on youth football players and it would be more rewarding for him... class act if I've ever seen one...hence my sig.

p.s i think harbaugh sucked a QB was never more than average and he's doing pretty well. every case is different though but QB's make good coaches..who knows the game better then them?

I could go along with it. He's got the experience and supposedly very cerebral. He organized a lot of the offensive team meetings and understands the complexities of running a pro offense.

No. Keep Mr. Checkdown away from the next dolphin QB. Henne was known for the intermediate to long ball in college. Penny and Sparano turned him into Checkdown Henne.
