I think QB coach is one of those sort of "alternate" positions that some teams have and some don't.

First thought that came to mind when reading this was that they are going to draft Tannehill.

I would rather have them hire a QB coach and let Sherman focus being the offensive coordinator. Plus they need someone on the offensive staff to possibly groom to take over as OC if Sherman leaves after one year.
To me, I'd like Sherman to be in connection with our qb's. He needs to know and realize what our qb's are able of doing and form the gameplan accordingly. He should know what throws Moore, etc. is really good at and format the plan that way.

I like Sherman Taylor and Philbin all chiming in. God knows we can't have enough qb coaching for the Miami Dolphins!

    Thank you Don!

"I have seen how much the fans in South Florida care about the Dolphins, and that passion is one reason why I’m really excited to be here. I’m looking forward to their support, and I can’t wait to get started." -Coach Philbin

They plan on having Peyton as the starting QB, so he will be his own QB coach.

He never played in a West Coast system that I recall and never tutored a backup whoever turned into anything and either way his style of play is ultra conservative.

Other than the fact that players like him... what exactly is there to like?
