I would still eliminate the department of uneducation. Pretty sure the Internet reaches all 50 states now.

Confident we can make it without them.
It's the regulating they do that we need, not the knowledge. I think Lou's post summed it up pretty nicely...

If I could take your pain and frame it, and hang it on my wall,
maybe you would never have to hurt again...

This to me is why the US Department of Education shouldn't be cut like so many Libertarians want. State lawmakers by and large are stupid and they do stupid things. The only reason Kentucky hasn't done anything stupid recently is because they are all fatcats that have been in power for decades. They're all lazy.

Without mandates from the government the circulumn from individual states would be all over the place. Instead of just moving to different county to get your kid in a good school, you would literally have to move to a different state. The Dept of Education could be slimmed down and streamlined but should never be axed.

Actually things like this bill and others are still going on even with the DOE. States still have the power to set curriculum. The reason pepole want to get rid of the DOE is because it's an expensive bureaucracy that hasn't proven to be any better than the States running their own schools. And under it's rule education has only skyrocketed in cost along with offering sub-par education. And let's not forget the trillion dollar loan/debt bubble.

I can honestly say that I would rather be anally raped by a well-endowed Brontosaurus than ever live, or let my future kids go to school in, Arizona. This state is the poster child for backwards thinking and anti-constitutional horsesh*t. I can't even begin to express how disgusted I am with this bill...
Dumb people are easier to lead or to be mislead. Education was always a thorn in the sides of the right.

Nice to see the GOP's War on Intellect continue.

Always funny that they're the same ones wrapping themselves in the flag and Constitution whenever it's convenient, yet bastardizingly violating it whenever they flaunt it, under the guise of "reform".

Arizona sucks. Reasons like this only further highlight why. Pretty ironic that the GOP used to be the party of intellect led by Arizona's own Barry Goldwater. Now, they're a bunch of anti-intellect, backward thinkers, hell bent on framing this country into a permanent state of Idiocracy.

What's next? A "cultural revolution" complete with a book burning?

Isn't the GOP supposed to be the party of "limited government"? Doesn't **** like this and their various other campaigns kind of fly in the face of it?

And sadly not that far-fetched. Not to the extent of that, obviously, but we're heading that way...

I was born in Phoenix and got out of there as fast as I could. Phoenix itself isn't too bad, it's when you get out of the metro area that you see where Raising Arizona got it's imagery.

Even with a DOE. That's the sad thing.
