I PROMISE you that Iceland, Finland, Japan, New Zealand and Korea don't have the same immigration issues we have, not even close.

Those are the Countries you named off. That pattern is very easy to see and recognize
Quite a few of those 13 to 24 countries come from Europe. And Europe is actually facing a pretty big immigration problem especially after the establishment of the EU. Granted not as big as the U.S. but a big enough problem none the less.

    Okay, simple enough.

What are they doing that we aren't?

That's my whole point. I would love to know what it is. We could benefit from it and save money in the process.

    But, who's really saving money?

I stick by what I said. Pro Athletes make 10X? what they should, and top-tier teachers make50%? if what they should.

My math is MUCH better than my reading, and even considering the ratio of Pro Athletes:Teachers, this is an easy problem to solve....

But truth is, many teachers are also handcuffed to what they can and can't do.

I still think that diversity of what is being professed is part of the story.

The second was a dig at Daria. The first, whats more important not getting rid of a few teachers for schools to supposedley educate those high schoolers or supposedly "protecting" them from seeing a billboard on the side of their school bus?
I'm not so sure that isn't a false choice, but even so I think if one's idea of education includes treating the students as mindless automatons, it doesn't matter how many teachers you have.
Not every human is a manipulative, opportunistic, letch... or at least that's what I'm told.

No false dilema there unless you want to make the entire thread one. Anyhow, moving on from going tit for tat into that, as I stated from the start I'm not for this. As with lottery this is just a means of politicians and voters to avoid making tough and smart choices in government. For instance, my county doesn't build a 100 million dollar Taj MaJail if there isn't millions from lotto free money for the school budget.
