According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, free agent Peyton Manning has whittled the list of 12 interested teams "down to a couple," including the Dolphins.

The Dolphins hope to meet with Manning over the next few days to examine his medical history. They're not alone. NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports several teams want to see Manning throw, but have received no feedback as to whether he plans to hold a workout or visit teams. The events of the weekend will be telling, as the Dolphins need an answer by March 13 and the Cardinals by March 17.

Always thought Manning to Miami is a fantasy. Something tells me that playing in the shadow of Dan Marino does not intrigue Manning. No QB likes to be thought of the 2nd best ever to play for a team (especially one with such a resume) and if Manning comes to Miami and falls short of a Super Bowl win, that's exactly what he would be- the 2nd best QB ever to wear a Phins uniform.

i'm hoping he's humble enough to understand this stage of his career and that no Miamian could ever hold any QB with more love in their hearts than Dan Marino. If Manning came to Miami and won 2 back to back Super Bowls, would you love him more than Marino? I couldn't. I have father/son memories with Marino no one could ever replace. That, to me, is where the true beauty of this beastily game lies.

"The injustice of defeat lies in the fact that its most innocent victims are made to look like heartless accomplices. It is impossible to see behind defeat, the sacrifices, the austere performance of duty, the self-discipline and the vigilance that are there -- those things the god of battle does not take account of."

Good info. On the NFL Network they said that they couldn't see Manning flying around to all of these cities and putting on a passing demonstration for GM's, owners and coaches. I also can't see Manning holding a "pro day" in Miami and inviting these "12 interested team"s in coming to take a look. Did Luck or RG3 throw for anyone? NO. I know Manning's case is different because of his neck procedures, but I doubt he gives anyone a throwing demonstration.

and the afc east schedule is unpredictable. likewise w/ any team theres a good chance he will have cold weather games.

Very true, but he would still have to play Brady twice a year and the Pats still own this division for another couple of years.

I would think the opposite. AFC, no state taxes, close to home, an owner that will spend more, South Beach and a better team.

Not saying that, he would be a great fit there, i just think that he would prefer Arizona. This entire board thinks just because he owns a condo in Miami thats why he is going to sign there.
