ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms free agent Peyton Manning is "open to playing in the NFC," despite a preference for the AFC.

It's another positive sign for Arizona and perhaps Seattle. Schefter also confirms that Manning's camp is "aiming to make a decision within the next week" on a landing spot. CBSSports.com's Pat Kirwin insists there's "no way" Manning will allow medical personnel to examine his arm, which would leave teams to potentially damage his market value. In fact, says Kirwin, a workout in front of teams may be avoided "if a top bidding team says they don't care about the session, which I suspect will be the case."

and the afc east schedule is unpredictable. likewise w/ any team theres a good chance he will have cold weather games.

Especially w/SEATTLE and SAN FRAN. Do any of you know how wet and damp and cold those 2 places can get?????

Arizona has a terrible defense and not much other than Fitzgerald. Miami has better talent overall than Arizona.

Eh, there defense isn't that bad, just a notch below us really. There run game is pretty good too with beanie and williams. We may have a couple more better players here and there, but realistically there right on par with us as far as talent fellas. It's just comes down to preference. We play in AFC, they play in NFC. He has a home here, he dosent have a home there, we have the beach, they have dirt...

the manning are a close knit family and they are all on the east coast. i cant see them traveling back and forth from home to arz to ny and back and so forth. at some point travel logistics have to be factored into his decision. we are not talking about a guy who is searching for the big contract. he is looking for the best situation that gets him success and meets his families needs.
