Based on a sad but true story, Acornball is a movie for anybody who has ever dreamed of destroying a storied football franchise. Louis CK stars as Jeff Ireland, the general manager of the once proud Miami Dolphins and the guy who destroys the team, who has an epiphany: all of football's conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on drunken Irish proverbs, bigotry, and former Dallas Cowboy rejects, Ireland will have to make a himself look like a total ass as he breaks the heart of every Miami Dolphins fan. The onetime placekicker for the Baylor Bears teams with real estate tycoon Stephen Ross (Larry David) in an unlikely partnership, recruiting bargain players that every fan, scout, woman, and child calls flawed, but all of whom have an ability to fumble, throw interceptions, and lose games. It's more than football, it's a devolution - one that destroys Miami's old school traditions as winners and puts Ireland in the crosshairs of those who say he's tearing out the heart and soul of the Miami Dolphins. (And hopefully an assassin)
