Three Things on Tim Tebow to the New York Jets:Thing 1 – Miami Dolphins fans should be very upset the Jets just got Tebow for a fourth-round draft pick.Tony Sparano now has the perfect weapon to run the Wildcat for Rex Ryan, the weapon he hoped he was getting in Pat White (oops) and had interest in getting after coaching Tebow at the 2010 Senior Bowl.Thing 2 — Not surprised at all that it would be the Jets to pull the trigger on Tebow. They showed no fear in going after Mark Sanchez in 2009. Nor did they blink in going after Antonio Cromartie or Santonio Holmes or Plaxico Burress.That’s just how they roll.

Too bad Tony isn't really the one behind the wildcat, that sure would have helped them. And this probably will end up hurting the Jets more than helping. While they talk of a specific role for him and this doesn't affect Sanchez . . . with the turmoil already brewing, all it will take is a couple bad games from Sanchez and fans/press will clamor for Tebow full time.

The Wildcat never had a guy running it that could pass and run.

Funny thing is that the Jets now have a QB who beat both the Jets and the Dolphins last season (And the Steelers).

This does make the Jets better.

Consider the following

Sanchez

2011 starting record 8-8
26 TD's in 543 attempts
18 ints in 543 attempts

Tebow

2011 staring record 7-4
12 TD's in 271 attempts
6 ints in 271 attempts.

Just looking at these stats shows that in half the pass attempts Tebow had almost 1/2 the TD's of Sanchez
But with half the pass attempts he only had 1/3 of the Int's that Sanchez had.
The lower amount of turnovers result in a better starting record and those couple wins put the Jets back in the playoffs.

Sanchez gave away games last year. Tebow won't.

Oh noo so scared of Tebow!! I don't think they'll be execute the wildcat effectively enough to justify the signing. I think it'll bring relatively no benefit, beyond a boatload of attention (which is what Rex wants).

Cmon guys. No one here wanted Tebow so when the Jets get him we panic? They now have Sanchez, Henne and Tebow. Thats probably the only worse qb corps than us. And with Sparano calling the shots they won't score. There's actually a chance the Jets finish below us in the AFC East this year. If I was worried about any signing today it would be Buffalo getting Anderson.
