That probably translates to some team who's hot on his tail: "Let's leak out a rumor he failed his drug test so he'll drop right to us"...

Percy Harvin supposedly failed his drug test and went in the 1st round. Same for B.J. Raji. Remember the rumors about Calvin Johnson admitting that he smoked marijuana at Georgia Tech? He went top 3.
Warren Sapp failed his drug test... top 10 pick. Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing both supposedly tested positive for steroids, etc.
The list of these type rumors is long whether they're true or not. If he falls out of the 3rd round then it affected his draft status. If he doesn't then it didn't.
As many as 3 out of every 5 of these college kids smoke marijuana, it's just to what extent they do it that varies.
evidently also hosley told a va tech beat guy that they are dissappointed in how teams have rated his value...earliest he's heard has been 3rd round teams don't like the 178 lbs...he though he would go at least round 2
I can't imagine that the NFL, or scouts in general, are naive enough to believe that the majority of these college kids aren't smoking marijuana. It's the least of their worries.
What they need to be more worried about is the type of people that they associate with.
well i guess we'll see...i don't think they like the timing of smoking weed when you know you have a job rehearsal which is what the combine is...

That's right. They're more concerned about the fact they failed the "dumb a**" test, which is what the combine drug test is. It's not so much the marijuana they're worried about, but the fact that you couldn't be clean on the one instance you had to be.
You can convince a kid to leave the weed alone. You can't fix stupid.
