Kaddu is a much better player than Terrell Manning. Manning was a kid I didn't put on my draft board because I didn't like his instincts, and didn't understand his decision to come out early. On the other hand, Kaddu has long been one of the more underrated linebackers in the country in my opinion.
Kaddu's versatility is quite rare for the position he plays. He understands how to read his keys and explode into the backfield for negative plays.

Ireland must have mixed up Sanu and Kaddu on his board and ended up with the wrong one.
I'm not a fan of this pick. I haven't been as high on Kaddu as others. I don't think he's instinctive at all and is strictly a special teams guy at best. For the year he was 6th on his team in tackles and only had 1 assist in the biggest game of the year (Rose Bowl against a run team Wisconsin). He did very little in games against good teams....Wisconsin, USC, Cal (7 total tackles, 1 for loss). I would have gone with about 10 other players at this point.
I hate west coast defensive players!!!!!!!!!!

The Pac-10 has always produced terrific defensive players. It's Big-12 quarterbacks that people need to be concerned about.
Yeah. Polalamu, Pat Tillman, Clay Matthews, Ronnie Lott, Tedy Bruschi, & B Cushing are/were such complete hacks.

You had to go back to Lott and Tillman to find any relevance. Three of the guys are out of football and depending on which Matthews you are talking about it would be four.

How about Haloti Ngata for a more recent player? Same school too. Not making direct comparisons between these players, I just think disqualifying an entire conference from producing D talent is pretty narrow-minded.
Terrell Suggs is another. That's the last 2 DPOY from Pac 10. Just saying.
