as much of a DBAG that he is, and can't get free agents in here. the man has yet again had a decent draft, he has been focusing on the offense since he has taken over and bp is gone. i have a feeling that we might hit on some of these picks, mos def lamar miller. martin will be a starter since day 1. egnew will be a nice find, and i could see one of the wr's making the team

"Decent draft" strikes me as a left-handed compliment. IMO, going into the season, he had a terrific draft.

Oh and if "can't get FAs in here" entails informing mediocre petulant puzzies who delusionally think they should be paid like their position's top performers not to expect any Brink$ Trucks being backed up on their behalf, well then hell, that's okay with me too

IMHO the man's gotten a bad rap. If I tell you my dad's a pimp, what is the next logical question? Two good drafts in a row.

It's not that he can't get FA to come here it's just his philosophy and that of Philbin's is to not overpay for them yet build through the draft and Ireland is doing just that and showed over the weekend he can put together a nice draft for the coaches he has.

Before I get too excited about Ireland and this years draft.. let me ask you all an honest question...

Could you have done just as well, if you were running the show? IMO 99% of the members here will say YES... therefore.. what makes Ireland so f'n special?

I would get down and kiss Irelands feet had he pulled off the RGIII or Andrew Luck trade.. but in all honesty.. he did what he was supposed to do.. nothing more.. nothing less.. Greatness comes to those that do great things.. and there was nothing great about this draft..
    Mr Ross.. you failed us!!!

With the draft Jeff Ireland is in his comfort zone. He has referred to himself as a scout at heart (or something close to that). He is also been labeled a hard worker by anyone around him. So the draft appears to definitely Ireland's area of strength.

Where Ireland appears to fall short is in his ability to connect with players. He also has done a good job of managing the salary cap.

As much as I like the direction of the team, we will learn a lot about Ireland the non-draft GM with the handling of Long and Wake contracts this year.

Don't hate Ireland....he had a solid draft for sure, but it is an issue if FAs don't want to come here. Don't know how true it is, but if it is true, that is a problem.

I call bs. I doubt many would kiss irelands feet for giving up the amount Washington did for RGIII.
