The Pope owns 51% of General Motors, and the stock exchange is all he's really qualified to quote us.

Now, I'm very curious both from the atheists side, and also from the people who considers themselves a follower/practitioner of a certain religion; How much do you know about the other world religions? It absolutely stupefies me that no one I talk to seems to know the difference between say, Hinduism and Buddhism, or between Islam and Christianity. Much less what the difference between Zen Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism, or even so much as heard of the Tao. The word "Yogi" for most of you is associated with a cartoon bear.
Im actually pretty good about knowing about religions. Christianity in particular. I find that I know the bible much better than most Christians do. I was brought up in it and plus read a lot about it on my own. Other religions Im familiar more or less with the basics. What they believe about God, afterlife, ect. but not all the details.

Also, Im not sure Id label myself as "atheist" even if it may be true to a degree IMO. I think atheism is a lack of belief in a God, which would describe how I feel. Most people interpret it as an active belief that there is no God, and I dont really fully feel that way. I suppose Im more of an agnostic if we are gonna label me. I just think organized religion is hogwash.

It can be hogwash. However, anyone who's had an experience of Cosmic Consciousness and is aware that there isn't anything but God, all outward manifestations of that through religion are gravy; it's like a rich man getting richer.

Would it surprise you Tyler if I told you that you were God? You're not special though, everyone and everything else is as well. Nothing is not God. What you are, is what the entire universe is doing at the place and time you call 'here & now'. You are congruent with the entire cosmos, not separate from it. You are something the entire universe is doing, in the same way that a wave is something the whole ocean is doing.

Achintya-Bheda-Abheda - Simultaneous oneness and difference.

If that doesn't appeal to anyone however, you can always go back to being poor little me.

The funny thing for me is how much the findings of Quantum Physics seem to parallel or correlate with some of the notions that people's of the east have been telling for thousands of years.
