    Walrus -

I had my run ins with hooshoops, too. He used to not even debate anyone. He would say something, and when he was disagreed with, would just tell people he has forgotten more football than they know. I called him out on it and we went back and forth for a while. He pretty just ignores me now. So, he has shown some progress with his socialization...

That's great info, thanks. Never thought about the garlic cloves before. That's interesting. Only 6 hours at 250? I thought brisket took much longer than that. That's crazy about the torch. I think maybe the weather was trying to tell you something about doing barbeque.

You can cook it at that temp for hours bro. I like any steak I cook pretty much raw, I mean Pittsburgh rare is where I'm at so I tend to cook on the less done side when it comes to beef. You cannot over cook the brisket at that temp, 6, 7 8 hours it all depends on how done and how big the brisket is and how much smoke you want on it, your rig is more of a smoker than my can so it might take longer in there. My can is kinda a hybrid BBQ/Smoker/convection oven lol.

General rule of thumb for a garbage can turkey is 5 to 6 minutes a pound, if it is huge bird 20 to 24 pounder I like to keep it on there longer to much sure it is done deep in by the bone. Nothing sucks worse than taking a bird out that isn't done but with the bird the can temp is also higher in the 300 to 350 range. With the brisket I don't place the coals as close or as many on top of the can. I like the rig you have because temp is much much more controllable which is why I wanted to build it so bad.

I love to BBQ, I'd BBQ on the moon if I could import enough O2 to support combustion lol. That day it was so damn cold but at least the beer was plenty and inside was warm, I think it took double in that cold to cook the birds, about 10 to 12 minuted a pound lol.

i used to drink whiskey straight. probably not like youre talking about but in shots. some of my worst nights are thanks to jim beam and wild turkey. when we first started dating locke tried to drink it with me. he ended up half naked in a bush. i almost broke up with him because of it lol. i didnt think i could date a person who couldnt hold their whiskey. i actually cant remember why i decided against it. probably just saw him play his guitar again lol. i was always a sucker for a musician.

One night two friends and I got hammered and decided to wander into the woods. Had to literally drag a guy away from a deer after he tried to attack it. Later discovered we had left several incoherent, moronic voicemails on all these chicks phones. Also left a party one night to buy a couple underage chicks some alcohol and thought the night would go somewhere until I puked all over a dumpster. Also got wasted and pissed on a bush at Red Rocks right in front of a whole line of chicks because I didn't want to wait behind them at a porta-potty.

Weed and booze at the same time seem to balance each other out for me. I've seen it send other people straight to the toilet, or the floor.

I'm also posting here right now to tell you all that I love each and every one of you and that you should all cherish the little things in life. I say that all because I do not think I will survive this semester. Am I overwhelmed? Hardly. Do I have not one, but two classes where I sit next to "that guy" who creeps the living hell out of me and has me at least somewhat seriously concerned that he's going to come to school on that day when he snaps? Yup.

I've calmed down quite a bit. But let's be honest, I was an undergrad in a punk rock band. I was always going to be drinking more than any 20 year old should. Those stories don't even come close to some of the other crap I've gotten myself into...

I like hoops. He treats me with respect so we get along just fine. During the draft we even trade info back and forth if we hear inside rumors and stuff. I disagree with him in that thread but I don't consider that a run in. Just a difference of opinion.
