Because there is no difference between the two parties. It's all a big shell game with the same people running both parties. It's called the Hegalian Dialectic. When you control both sides of the argument, you control the outcome of the argument. All the while, most people think that they are on different sides of the issue when in actuality they being pushed towards the same goal. That's why instead of debating free market versus socialism, we are debating over how much socialism/authoritarianism we are willing to accept.
