Holy ****, is Rand Paul's filibuster still going on?

His filibuster over Obama's CIA nomination began at 11:45 am(est) and i believe its still going. If so, **** yeah. If your going to do it, THIS is how it should be done.

That's how it used to be done. A filibuster only lasted as long as you could physically keep it going. Now they basically just say filibuster and go on with their business.

Definitely. The reason it was effective is because the government was effectively shut down for the duration until one side caved. There were stories of Senators standing there reading from the phone book, rambling for hours, etc. I even heard stories that they had brought in trash cans and privacy screens for bathroom use in the past, but I'm not sure how true that was.

OK, so this song is absolutely ridiculous. The vocals are a little monotonous for my taste (even for death metal), but the musical composition, the musicianship, the atmosphere, all of it just combines to create some ridiculousness.

I think its based on points. Is this the first negative rep youve received? Perhaps you built up enough to get all the green bars but not enough to keep them when getting slashed when negative rep'd.

Actually, i should probably shut up and let a mod answer, this has sparked my interest. It will be worth knowing as ive been steadily collecting negative rep recently.
