Some people believe that before Halos turned into a frisbee looking thing above the head, the older Christian halos behind the head with lines in them represented that the person was under the influence of the mushroom.
If you want to go even deeper, a lot of people think that the Eucharist (body of Christ), IS a magic mushroom. To those who have never done mushrooms this will seem silly, but you can have the same experience Jesus had, all you need is about 5 dried grams of psilocybin.
It certainly would explain a lot.
