In his first six months as the Dolphins defensive coordinator, Kevin Coyle has changed Miami’s scheme from a 3-4 to a 4-3. When it comes to his style, the former Bengals secondary coach said that it will be a mixture from those who he coached with in Cincinnati.
“I’m going to draw things from 35 years in coaching but it will be a little bit of what Dick LeBeau does, some of Marvin Lewis and some of Mike Zimmer,” Coyle said during Miami’s recent minicamp.
Coyle had been part of the Bengals staff for 11 seasons before taking the job in Miami the week of the Senior Bowl. Coyle and first-year Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin had been longtime friends, but haven’t been on the same staff until now.
