In his first six months as the Dolphins defensive coordinator, Kevin Coyle has changed Miami’s scheme from a 3-4 to a 4-3. When it comes to his style, the former Bengals secondary coach said that it will be a mixture from those who he coached with in Cincinnati.

“I’m going to draw things from 35 years in coaching but it will be a little bit of what Dick LeBeau does, some of Marvin Lewis and some of Mike Zimmer,” Coyle said during Miami’s recent minicamp.

Coyle had been part of the Bengals staff for 11 seasons before taking the job in Miami the week of the Senior Bowl. Coyle and first-year Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin had been longtime friends, but haven’t been on the same staff until now.

I'm hoping our defensive backs will intercept the football more.

Well, defense wasn't terrible last year, but yeah, they need to hang on to more INT chances and that might have taken them to another level.

A few things I got from this article:

-Coyle said Cinci ran a true 3-4 12% of the time - thats about 1 out of 8 snaps.
-Said Chad Johnson isnt washed up physically, and he was a hard workier in Cinci
-Said Hard Knocks was a good thing when Cinci did it

Coyle didn't say Cincinnati ran a true 3-4 12% of the time.
Even though the Dolphins had run a 3-4 under former coordinator Mike Nolan, Coyle noted that they ran a true 3-4 roughly 12 percent of the time.

I didn't know there was a Bengal flavor

That would be the all time clip in team history, surpassing Ginn family and everything else, if Stephen Ross took to the podium and announced the front office has spent the offseason studying the Cincinnati Bengals
