Yes, you think he came back to football because he missed it? He came back because he owed tons of child support and was running out of money. He was also going to be sued by the Dolphins to repay his multi-million dollar signing bonus. There's nothing wrong with being motivated by money - we all are to some extent. He has a family and goals too, and they cost money.

And do those conditions exist today? Just about anyone would come back to football if the alternative was the law coming after them regarding child support. That was then, this is now. Doing what the law required of you then is a far cry from now- he walked away from football and a big salary when he retired, that pretty much sums it up. I don't think that he's chasing anyone for money now.

Not going to argue about Ricky Williams finances, but I am pretty sure all of his kids are not 18+ years old, and he also went from making $1.5 million to nothing. I would think that money is just as important to him now as it ever was.

Honestly, why is this a "controversial connection"? Christianity, if you look at it critically, would be equally bizarre, if not moreso. Afterall, didn't Jesus heal people with his touch? Heck, he even reportedly resurrected one. I never see anyone report a business's connection with a Christian group as "bizarre" or "controversial".

really?? Then maybe you need to pay attention to ANY leftwing biased media source (ABC, CNN, MSNBC etc). Christians have been called "outta touch", controversial, bigoted, hateful, and everything else you can think of, just for standing on the simple absolutes, that God has commanded us to live by. And believe me it WILL get much worse. Christians will, one day soon, be persecuted in America the way they are around the rest of the globe.

really?? Then maybe you need to pay attention to ANY leftwing biased media source (ABC, CNN, MSNBC etc). Christians have been called "outta touch", controversial, bigoted, hateful, and everything else you can think of, just for standing on the simple absolutes, that God has commanded us to live by. And believe me it WILL get much worse. Christians will, one day soon, be persecuted in America the way they are around the rest of the globe.

The only times I have seen a business criticized for having connections to Christian groups is when said groups are trying to take rights away from people that have nothing to do with religious belief, as in, gay marriage, which has nothing to do with the Christian practice of marriage, but rather, with the legal definition of marriage. Otherwise, Christian groups are never criticized.

Heck, you can't even run for public office without adhering to some popular religious belief. Every US president has been Christian, and unless Romney wins, will continue to be. It will still be a long time coming before a non-Christian becomes President.

This quote from Mike Florio, a Christian, is really quite hypocritical. Christianity has been built upon providing care for the poor (well, after the violent forced conversions of the Middle Ages and Inquisition) while espousing their beliefs in order to convert them. That's how Christianity has spread throughout Africa, South America and other parts of the Third-World.

"Amen." This is exactly what I was going to say and you hit it right on the head. Ricky isn't teaching underprivileged children a warped set of reality anymore than any religion or any belief taken out of context does. Every Religion teaches a "warped" set of reality if you really think about it. Who are we as living beings to refute what another person chooses to believe, and what a "true" reality is. No religion or cult or belief should do so, it is a falsity. Give Ricky a break; dude sees and believes different ideals, who cares if people choose to see what he sees?
