Fact check: Paul Ryan take factual shortcuts in speech

WASHINGTON (AP) — GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan took some factual shortcuts during the Republican convention when he attacked President Barack Obama's policies on Medicare, the economic stimulus and the budget deficit. His running mate, Mitt Romney, was expected to speak later Thursday in the convention's culmination.

A closer look at some of Ryan's remarks Wednesday at the GOP convention in Tampa, Fla.:

If I could take your pain and frame it, and hang it on my wall,
maybe you would never have to hurt again...

Can't wait to hear Romney's half truths and spin tonight and then Biden and Obama's spin and false promises next week...

No doubt. I'm liking that fact check is becoming more and more known. Hopefully, it'll help keep politicians a little more honest...

If the mods can merge the thread phins_4_ever posted with this one, it would be appreciated.

Ryan's speech was not unexpected, and some of his points werent totally incorrect, just hypocritical. Its particularly easy for them to get away with this stuff because, well, they dont have many of their owns plans. They just keep talking about how bad Obama is and stretching the truth(if not downright lying like the recent Welfare law commercial).

Going into this convention many from the Tea Party were wanting to hear about specific plans from Romney. All these loopholes he promises to close but never reveals what those loopholes are. Or what his health care plans are, in which he has promised to provide almost everything Obamacare does without the individual mandate. While Romney has already lost my vote, i am interested to see what he says in his speech(i know what i expect...). Speakers at the convention keep harping on leadership, leadership, leadership. Ryan can get away with a partisan fluff piece speech in which he overlooks his own past. Im waiting to see if Romney steps up and starts outlining his vision for presidency. You know, other then "Im not Obama".

And i agree with the fact check sites. They are more than appreciated. I cant come up with a single negative concerning them, especially after the green light for Super PACs.
