    Scouts Inc. Top 32

Had a chance to look at Scouts Inc. top 32, which I thought was pretty interesting. Lists Chance Warmack #2 and saying that he's the best guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson. Also have Justin Hunter (#7) as the top receiver prospect over Keenan Allen (#18). Here's the list for discussion.

I thought Decastro was the best guard prospect since Hutchinson?

Good list to keep an eye on

Interesting that they have Justin Hunter as the top receiver. Durability is the only concern I have with him. His talent and ability certainly warrant being thought of this highly. He's a player.

I think Amerson is too high there until he shows the ability to match up in pure man coverage and displays fluid hips and the ability to transition. I have Justin Gilbert as my top CB. I know he can do it.

Alec Ogletree is a little high here too. Great looking linebacker but off field issues. He's facing a potential suspension although Coach Richt hasn't exactly addressed it publicly yet.

A notable omission at the tackle spot is Taylor Lewan. He absolutely destroyed William Gholston, who they have at #26 here. I like Lewan a little better than Joeckel and/or Dallas Thomas (who's moving to guard this season).

I am very high on Hunter. I saw a mock draft that had him going #2 to Miami. If he can stay healthy, I guess top 10 for him is a possibility. I'd love to see Miami come out of this draft with two elite players, something that could happen if the team packages some of it's picks in a trade up. What's your take on Jarvis Jones? Is he someone who would fit the Dolphins system and provide the kind of pass rush we need? I know you are high on Chase Thomas (so am I) and looks like he could be a 2nd rounder.

Hunter tore the ACL in his left knee this past September. That certainly is cause for concern. I know an ACL tear doesn't mean what it used to mean, but still ...

Am I reading that correctly, they have two guards in the top 10?!

Yeah, that will have to be looked into for sure. If healthy, though, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him as the first receiver off the board.

That's definitely surprising. I know with an influx of really good defensive tackles over the past few years and more teams going with the 4-3, the guard position is becoming more important. But top 10 still seems high, especially considering where David DeCastro ending up going.

There's a lot of flaws here with their grades, but the 2 guards aren't. I felt I had already pointed out one that stuck out to me with Amerson in the top 10.... he substantiated that by going out and displaying the exact flaws that I knew he had.

You cannot grade a DB that high based on nothing but INT's on a stat sheet...which is exactly what they did. If you can't display elite hip fluidity and ability to transition to play out on an island in man coverage techniques, you're not a top 10 pick. Amerson's flaws were kept camoflauged by the scheme, until last weekend. He's not an elite cornerback prospect that belongs inside the top 10 in the mold of a Morris Claiborne, Champ Bailey, Bryant Westbrook, Shawn Springs, etc...

He's either a pure zone corner in a C2 scheme, or a safety.
