    Fantasy football is dumb

How can some people play this stuff like it's their religion? This guy at my company has talked about this childish stuff nonstop this morning. Bragging about how he lead a money league full of virgins in scoring. This meatball is probably spending valuable company time trying to decide which defense he should start against which QB this week or whatever it is that these nerds do. I'd fire his ass if he wasn't such a good worker. Plus he's a pitiful negotiator so I was able to lowball him on his salary and got him on the cheap (he's not Mexican either). Anyhoo, I might play next year just to shut this guy up. I don't really have a lot of time to conduct a draft like these nerds do but maybe I'll hire one of you super nerds to do it for me and I'll just write it off as a business expense.

There are 3 good reasons to play FF.

    1. Money. If you're good you can win some.
    2. Hanging with friends and talking trash.
    3. It makes games you don't care about worth watching.

#3 is maybe the most interesting. Lets say it's Cleveland V TB and you hate those teams. Well, if you have Trent Richardson and Legarrette Blount on your fantasy teams, now you want to watch that game.

So I have to invest all of this time and effort into imaginary football to win a couple hundred bucks after 17+ weeks. Or I can lay a hundy with the bookie on Houston to beat the hell out of us and make an extra hundy while I hang with friends at the bar and talk trash about those jersey wearing nerds mouthing off about David Akers planting some field goal. No wonder people stay poor. And there's nothing in the world that can make the Cleveland Browns entertaining. I'm not watching that crap.

although your points are very good and accurate as to why people play it, for me personally i can watch any regular season nfl game without any fantasy implications.

i do play fantasny football but if i didnt id still watch. Also i can also argue in a way its annoying because i could be watching a great game, but rather than being able to enjoy it, i have to worry about specific players getting touches, catches, whatever because i am playing vs them in fantasy.

overall it is fun though, but i can deff live without it,

Sounds more like the guy you're talking about is the dumb one.

It could be that, or you just plain suck at it.

Interesting you mention that you don't enjoy a game due to FF. I quit playing FF 2 years go and enjoy watching games much more now. I was just putting forth the best I could.
