Also a bad reminder of how success bred failure by over relying on the wildcat. We masked alot with that offensive scheme that many in the know knew would be less effective over time.
This offense also had us draft one of the worst failures in dolphin history Pat White. I personally dont mind a wildcat play once in a while but anytime you are in that formation you usually dont have to double anybody esp if its a runningback running it.
When Death Smiles Upon You the Infantryman smiles back
Even after it was 'figured out' I still thought it would be effective as a power running formation at the proper times (or even for trick plays)

Then it just became like a crutch, throwing an already lesser talented QB (Henne) out of any rare rhythm he may have found by making bad calls and throwing him out there on 3rd and long
Then those passes like when we ran all over Buffalo down the field and its a called pass, picked in the endzone
Then I remember one of those games against the Jets (I think the one we lost on MNF or SNF in a close one) we are calling the obvious play in the wildcat. Meaning we would run on 1st, then call a pass on 2nd and 13 and Ronnie is throwing to no one and hes not even a QB
Henning and Sparano ruined the use of it, while it still could have been an effective tool

(On Miami sports teams being popular)
-“That’s not competition,” LeBron said. “That’s like you rooting for your family members. That’s not competition at all. It would be great to have him, but we’ll see.”

Henne did a pretty good job of getting himself out of rhythm. Even when he started out hot, he would put up two TD drives then promptly spot the other team a couple scores with bad pics.
