RIP. He was a legend and an innovator. The NFL wouldn't be what it is without him and his dad. I'm glad he lived to see his dad go into the HOF.

Wow, I didn't even realize he was that old...I didn't even know he had brain cancer. Terrible news.

This is very sad news. He was a major part of the growth of the NFL.

RIP. Used to love coming home from school in the mid-90's and watch classic NFL films on ESPN. Him and his dad are a huge part in why the NFL is the most popular league today.

I remember as a kid watching "this is the NFL" waaaay before ESPN and the like. Fond memories.. R I P Steve, every NFL fan owes you and your father a ton of gratitude!

RIP. I am a huge fan. I watched him as a little kid going back to the 70s. Phenomenal talent and vision. Loved his work. Came across great on TV too. Sad loss.
And his dad is still alive and has to bury his son ....sad rip
Just read that he passed from cancer. Very sad.
