Pretty interesting debate between two Christians.

I'm not sure I'd classify Hovind as a Christian. At least a very good one. His logic is also very flawed. He basically refutes all of Ross's arguments by saying Ross doesn't know what he's talking about. Hovind doesn't understand some basic science principles.
I just looked at his wiki page and he's currently serving prison time for tax related charges.

lol, well I was much more interested in Dr. Ross providing his arguments. But yea, I agree Dr. Hovind didn't really say anything other than "well I don't believe you." As for the prison thing, that's pretty funny.

In all fairness, tax evasion charges have no real bearing on the validity of his views.

No but if you review why he's in prison for tax evasion charges, it shows a flawed line of thinking that bleeds over to his arguments.

I am shocked that Carl Sagan had so much trouble with just a call in questioner, can you imagine if the guy actually debated a Creationists with a PhD? It’d be ugly. Nearly, all of the genetic information needed to produce the different phenotypes we see in breeds of dogs today was present in their common ancestors, so that analogy just doesn’t really work. In fact, Creationists will use the dog analogy quite often to illustrate how selection cannot produce all of the species we see today from one single common ancestor.Sagan Video
Rob, I find your article about distant starlight to be a total misrepresentation of the creationist position. They reference AIG, but nearly all of the arguments they claim creationists use are located on AIG’s “Arguments Creationists should not use” page. Additionally, I find it rather convenient that none of the four current cosmological models I can think of off the top of my head that do reconcile the distant starlight problem with a “young” universe find their way into the article.
For example…

I have actually met Ross and got a chance to visit with him for a while; he came to my university and debated my Evolutionary Biology professor. I loved the forum they used because it was more just the two of them sitting down and chatting with one another. I think there are far more formidable opponents out there than Hovind that he could have debated though…

Not a fan of this forum structure but Lisle is pretty solid…

Hugh Ross is a compromised Christian. All that means is he has strayed from the biblical creation as written in Genesis and attempted to blend it with evolutionary theory. Ken Ham would be a much better opponent for Mr. Ross.
Players come and go, but I will always be a Miami Dolphins Fan first and foremost.
Agreed, Wise and Sarfati would be fun to see debate Ross as well.
