The Division is Still Wide Open

With the Patriots losing last night, they are now 1-2, they are not getting that quick start they usually have, the rest of the AFC East does not have to try to keep up with them as of right now.

The Buffalo Bills and The New York Jets lead the AFC East at 2-1, I think its safe to say we can compete with these teams, especially later in the season when Philben and his staff really get a good understanding on how to run this team, things that a new coach on a new team needs to learn as the season progresses, same goes for Ryan Tannehill.

We've been competitive, we have a favorable schedule, this season is not yet over.

There are still alot of question marks around the Patriots. The offensive line is a mess, and the defense is inconsistent. Obviously, you can't sleep on them. They still have Brady, and the best TE combo in the league with Gronk and Hernandez, not to mention probably one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. They will make adjustments and still win 10 games easily. That puts the pressure on the rest of the AFC East. With Revis down and the offense being a hot mess, the Jets would normally be bringing up the rear, however, with relatively weak schedules abound for the rest of the division, a wild card out of ours is not terribly far fetched. Miami, NY, and Buffalo all could easily win 10 games this year. Miami has virtually one playmaker, and he is banged up, but they have, in my opinion, the best front 7 in the division. Young quarterback play will get stronger as the year progresses and the game slows down for him, and the coaching staff will find a rhythm. Buffalo is hot and cold. They have strong playmakers on both sides of the ball, and if they can ever have a complete game, it will be impressive. NY is absolutely riddled with injuries currently and have no cap space to do much about it, and the lack of talent available in the depth chart will hurt early. With 3 of the 4 next games coming up almost guaranteed losses to Houston, San Fran, and NE, this division will have a whole new outlook in 4 weeks.

At the halfway mark this division will likely showcase the Pats in first, followed by a 2 or 3 way tie for second at 2 games back. But the scheduling for Buff, NY, and Miami are all favorable down the home stretch.
