Look at the weapons the kid has... We need to go out and get some receivers but instead we get something called an Egnew.

Matty Ice imo looks elite this year. But look at the system they got! Ground and pounding with a top 5 RB, and also probably the best TE to ever play the game along with two sick wideouts. Im sure with our weapons he'd look like just typical MR, above average until this year so far... Tanny will get his chance but he needs weapons around him to succeed!

Yep. Chad Pennington would be elite with those weapons. He is a good QB but he is in a perfect scenario. Lets put it this way? Be honest with yourself, where would the guy be if we took him? Honestly what do you think? I think he would be the same playoff winless QB. But without a chance to win one, a little different.

Just because a QB is having success elsewhere doesn't mean that same QB would have succeeded in Miami or someplace else. Ryan has Julio Jones and Roddy White, along with Tony Gonzalez, who is probably having his best season ever. They also have Turner, Harry Douglas and other weapons. I am happy with Jake Long, and anyone who feels we made the wrong draft choice needs to realize that without a solid LT, it doesn't matter who you have at QB, because that QB is going to be running for his life.

Funny how a guy that doesnt turn the ball over get no credit for his success. Leinhart didnt exactly light it up with Fitz and Boldin who were superior at that point to Jones and White. Lets not act like Manning did not have top flight players around him. Hell Pennington had some top flight weapons with him in New York and was never exactly elite. Bledsoe in Buffalo had some great weapons and never really did much. How many superbowls did CArson Palmer win with the weapons he had. Hell Michael Vick had some damn good weapons with roddy White , Warrick Dunn and Gonzo as well as Michael Jenkins when he was considered a prospect much like Jones but he never played as well as Ryan. To give no credit to the qb that leads the NFL in passer rating because the team was smart to build around him is bs. I thought you needed a top level LT to play well. Atlanta had not had a winning season in three years and was one of the worst teasm in football the year prior to drafting Ryan.

The Falcons have had nothing special at LT
