He was going to be our big, pounding back. He BLOWS.
That's been a big problem with Bush with the last couple of games. We need him to get a couple yards to try to keep the chains moving or at worst keep the team from 3rd and long, and he ends up going backwards. Some teams have had "get the lead" and "keep the lead" backs. It's pretty obvious that the team trusts Thomas the most to just charge forward and get positive yardage out of our 3 backs, and that's probably a smart move.
Jerome Bettis and Eddie George made careers out of just ensuring that their team got positive yardage, so they were reliable enough to hand the ball 25-30 times and get you 100 even with little big plays. That's the role that Thomas is playing right now.
Thomas actually made a great play on a catch and run for a first today, and that's something we've seen from him multiple times this year.
Dude reminds me of Sammy Smith.
95% of the people on this board were all for Thomas over Murray after the draft. Its really easy to look back and say we should have picks so and so....but at least 32 teams passed on Demarco Murray at least twice
Sammy was a top 10 pick and played much worse was hurt most of the time and only played well in 1 playoff game as I remember and then was back to Sammy. DT is better not bragging on DT or defending him just saying he is better than Sammy was.
