    The word "Resign"

In the main forum, people keep saying "resign" as in "re-sign this player" - I keep reading it as RESIGN them, like a resignation. Is re-sign the proper way to say it? Do you need the hyphen?

Yes, you do. One thing that annoys me is when people type "ya". "Yeah" is a word. "Ya" is not unless you are saying yes in German, in which case it's spelled "ja".

Slang will always be present in any common language, linguists know that even spoken Latin was far different than written Latin. Just think about how many shorthand versions texting has introduced in only the last ten to fifteen years.

Texting itself wasn't a word until recently lol. From that you get text, txt, texted, txt'd, it is endless, as humanity evolves so does language.

The meaning between "resign" and "re-sign" are polar opposites. I just wish people would be more clear when they wrote that.

But it doesn't have to be, it is solely based on our definitions, Re-sign can mean resign the same way polish and Polish, wound ( to injure) wound (past tense of wind), wind (it blows) wind (the clock).

    English is confusing dude lol.

Me too bro and I am by no means a grammar or spelling expert. I make my fair share of errors, proof reading is my friend. Which is why I try to write out fully punctuated and grammatically correct text messages and post. That translates to better grammar in my emails (personal and corporate) and my reports. If I don't know the correct grammar I Google it, Google has become a wonderful tool to help with life.

Will I still make mistakes, sure I will but at least I try to fix my errors, hell I'll go back a day or two and correct an error in my posts if I see one.

Resign mean to quit,,,as in resignation latter.....using a hyphen, like in re-sign, means to sign again, or re-up.
