Mr. Ross needs to let Joe have four or five years to establish something. Philbin needs to be allowed to grow as a coach and establish a roster. Plus, Continuity is vital in the NFL.

The best thing we have going is the QB being tied to a HC. All the best teams have that.

lol. Love all the sour grapes. "Ross covets the big name." Then, it goes on to say how he went out
and aggressivly went after coaches who were or were arguably the best HC candidates out there.

    Whatever.

It's a rare coach that gets that long.

If you can't see rapid growth and improvement it's time to go another direction. Three years
is the maxium ammount of time that should be allowed to show defined, measureable growth.

I think it was fair to say Ross did not know what he wanted last year. He now has a solid HC and an improving QB. Let "nature take its course" Mr. Ross.

    It's not nature.

It's the hireing process. Happily, it turned out for the best.

True. It is amazing how good QB play makes a coaching staff look smart. Tony was "brilliant" in 2008 when Pennington was arguably the league MVP.

This team is not there yet, but Joe seems to be a steady hand that knows what he wants to do.

    "a thin and young roster"

I get the young.....but thin? These people continue to live in their alternate universe.

They still done see our front 7. and the guys who back up the beef up front.
By "Thin", I believe he's referring to depth at many positions. We just don't know what we have for backups in most cases. Fortunately, it appears we have a little depth at CB with Carol. As injuries occur this season, we'll have to cross our fingers hoping we have comparable depth at other positions.
The superior man blames himself. The inferior man blames others.

The roster is relatively weak....at the PK position. Run the ball and stop the run. If you can do that you're an elite team right there. Miami does that. Say what you will. When you can run and stop the run your roster is already way ahead of most. I think we're better than Detroit right now and they have Calvin Johnson. If they had Reggie Bush they'd probably have 2 more wins because they get jack sh1t from their RB position.
So, yeah. Saying our roster is weak immediately discredits the writer.
How many sacks does Wake have now? - Elite level pass-rusher
Sean Smith this season - elite level CB
Karlos Dansby - elite level LB
Reshad Jones - above average strong safety
Randy Starks - one of the best
Paul Solai - one of the best
Reggie Bush - elite level RB
our OL wins most of the LOS battles and has kept a rookie QB upright the vast majority of the time and better than all but a few in that regard.

When you add it up our roster is pretty strong.

Well said and I agree with you as to "run and stop the run".

This part is as presumptuous as anything I've ever read:
