I wonder how he'll do against press coverage?

I'm watching Keenan Allen right now, Cal vs Wash St 2nd quarter and Allen makes it look so effortless on the field. Runs routes so cleanly, quickly and effortlessly like it's 2nd nature
I love him for this team. And I like him A LOT more than Justin Blackmon - the top rated receiver in the last draft. Keenan Allen is more polished in more areas of his game and has more ways he can beat you. Allen is also a much smarter player than Blackmon with a far higher football IQ. Allen can read things "on the fly" much better.
Blackmon was mainly a guy you threw it up and thought he can outjump a DB and fight for the ball. Allen though has a dozen different parts to his game that Blackmon cannot touch at Allen's level. I never bought the total hype of Blackmon
Allen is one smooth Beast of an all-around WR

Right before the end of the half Allen was caught with a hit over the middle in double coverage, ball thrown way high. The guy is absolutely fearless over the middle, reached as high as he could for it knowing he'd get hit. NO alligator arms whatsoever. Walked off the field under his own power after laying on the ground for 30 seconds.
30 bucks says he'll run that route again just the same way in the 2nd half. He's fearless in traffic , doesn't shy away from contact, if he gets nailed on a hit while extended he doesn't let it get to his head to affect his concentration and brushes it off like nothing - I love that in a WR
"bite as pups"
With 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and a 14 point lead, Keenan Allen has caught over 90% of his team's total pass completions for the game (10 of Maynard's 11 completions have been to Allen). lol
10 catches , 160 yards, 1 TD.. being constantly double and triple covered -- still over a quarter left. Smooth as a butterfly
The only way Miami goes WR in the 1st round is if we stink it up the rest of the year. If we make the playoffs, we are signing/trading for Greg Jennings and drafting FS with our first pick.

If Allen keeps it up, we may play ourselves out of range to pick him.

Nah, I don't see us targeting a WR like Keenan Allen. As we already have already drafted our flanker in Rishard Matthews. What Miami will likely target to compliment/supplement the WRs we're currently developing is a "speedster/deepthreat" Split End type of WR. An Anthony Armstrong type. I can see us targeting a Mike Wallace or a Greg Jennings to replace Gaffney and likely have Brian Tyms and Jeff Fuller battle it out for the spot replacing Marlon Moore.
But Matthews, Bess, Hartline, (Wallace/Jennings), Tyms/Fuller, and Armstrong is what I expect next season...

That depends on if Ireland is still here or not.

True, but if we don't stink it up, I expect Ireland will/should be back to finish job, no?
