This news makes me think Stephen Ross will go into overdrive into finally upgrading Sun Life Stadium so the grand Super Bowl L can be played in Miami (which it should thanks to the history). Otherwise a brand new stadium in Santa Clara will take it. So like I said Ross will finally make some plans just so Miami can lure the Super Bowl back home
I think they really want to give it to Miami, but are putting the screws to Ross to upgrade the stadium first. The notion that they'll give it to Santa Clara because it's a new stadium is fine on the surface, but they could just as easily give SB 51 (or 52, or 53, etc.) to them instead.

Since they won't announce the winner until 2013, this gives Ross some time to figure out a way to pay for it, one that probably involves little to no taxpayer money.

If Ross wants it, Ross should pay for it (or at least a majority of it). What he should really pay for is a new stadium downtown, but we all know that will never happen since it's just cheaper to upgrade the ****hole we play in now.

Santa Clara's probably going to get it because they're holding all of the pre-game festivities in San Francisco, which is probably one of the greatest cities in the world. They're also putting up a ton of $$$ for the project, alot more than they're supposed to get.

Not to mention it's a shiny new stadium in an area that really hasn't had one since 1985. I think Santa Clara/SF gets it. Santa Clara's a pretty sketch place, but SF's pretty legit.

The bright side to all of this is that we may just get some nice stadium improvements out of it.

It's not one of the greatest cities in the world. Nothing personal against you, but that's hyperbole. I grew up and currently live 90 minutes from the greater Bay Area. The reason I live 90 minutes away is because the Bay Area is a hell hole. It's a dirty, foggy city with unbearable traffic where the wind NEVER stops blowing. It's one of the most overrated cities in the country. Miami has it's share of issues, but it's nicer than SF. As already stated, the South Bay is even worse. Santa Clara is not an appealing place to be in the least. The areas North of the Bay such as Napa, Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Sonoma are much, much nicer.

    Peninsula for the win!

Menlo Park/PA/Mountain View is some of the nicest real estate in the world.

Super Bowl 50: Miami versus Santa Clara

New stadium means they win. Our place is a dump. With all the nice new stadiums that have been built its likely Miami will not see many more Super Bowls.

It is a great city. You're entitled to your own opinion, just as I mine, but there's a reason it's on the destination list of so many.

Do you live in Stockton or something? I guess I'd be pissed too if I lived there.

No one is debating whether or not Great America is a grand place to stage the Super Bowl. It'll be a nice stadium, they can show shots of the Golden Gate, and the rest of the city. I'm not a fan of Santa Clara, but I don't like much of the South Bay. Peninsula and parts of Palo Alto/Menlo Park/Mountain View/Half Moon are nice, but San Jose's a giant rat race with tract homes, marijuana dispensaries, and shattered dreams.

So's Dublin and Pleasanton, Manteca, Tracy, Stockton, and Modesto.

God, that city is a dump. I passed through the city a few times during some road trips up and down the west coast and it's almost like a Buffalo of the west coast.

Be afraid, Brady. Be very afraid!

I just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.

The University of Pacific there's like a gated community in the middle of Mogadishu. They just filed bankruptcy too. Outstanding city.
