Vernon and fellow rookie Lamar Miller, a running back, are both rarities within the Dolphins as both have been able to spend their entire football career — to this point, anyway — without leaving Miami-Dade County (aside from practices in Davie).

“I wanted to play safety because I admired Sean Taylor so much,” Vernon said

Lamar's biggest fear was having to play for someone on the west coast or some place super far away from home. Lol. He lucked out.

Be afraid, Brady. Be very afraid!

I just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.

Future pro-bowlers in my opinion. I can see them playing out their careers in Miami, pending a trade or they are cut for poor performance.

    Just like Vernon...

Ireland drafted well this year, next draft should really put us where we need to be.

I think when you combine Philbin's input and the importance that these new coaches place on developing rookies and the fact that we have a nice number of extra draft picks next year we will be looking at a markedly better team next year
