True, but I was more getting at a situation like where RFKpromised to use the powers of the Presidency to find out what really happened to his brother.

Always wondered about that....how can the Attorney General use the powers of the office of the POTUS? It would seem the power of the AG's office would be all he had access to and would have to suffice.

When he was running for president he said that. Some speculate that it was part of the reason he was assassinated.

To kick it up a notch, JFK Jr. supposedly expressed similar sentiments as well as his intention to run for Senate and eventually the Presidency in private shortly before his plane crashed.
