Representative Mike Rogers of Michigan declares on CNN that:

    1) Bombing Iran's nuclear sites would not be an act of war, and

    2) He's sure the Iranians would NOT see "targeted strikes" as an act of war either.

Makes perfect sense to me. I mean if China or Russia were to bomb us "strategically" I'm sure that we all would be fine with that.

Well Maybe if they just dropped some hot sauce on the Jets Practice facility while they were practicing......

Anyone remember when going to war(which this would be, no question) was actually considered a big deal? Like, how it was something to do only after all other options have been explored?

Its fairly depressing how a chunk(a damn large chunk) of our populace now consider it a broad first and last option measure. How, if something becomes slightly inconvenient, its time to start throwing bombs at the problem and if that fails escalate the situation as quickly as possible. Like a bunch of highschool bullies who feel the solution to any problem is to start hitting it, and if that fails hit it some more.

And yes, i understand that some consider Democrats exactly the same as Republicans in this regard. Hypocrites the left may be, they at least show some hesitation on the subject. The rights eagerness is unnerving.

I will remember you TeddSlimmJr and Spesh, after we win it all, I'll just sit back and laugh with fond memories of my superior football IQ.

They should pass a bill that forces these guys to go to the front lines of the wars they want so bad. If they can't go then they have to send their kids. All that tough talk will cease.

At the very least force them to send their children to war with the rest of ours. Perhaps they would look at war a little differently then.

It would definitely humble them. I'm all for it.

WTF is he talking about? Bombing anybody, targeted or not is an act of war. Heck if someone sneezes the wrong way in another country we see that as a declaration of war against us. My goodness.

Republicans and technology have made going to war an every day and casual act. You know, we are pissing in our pants over 9/11 and every year we have those big events yet we are going out in the world and talk and act on war like we are going to buy chewing gum at 7-11. This whole war thing is also cutified by the media and we all remember how they made the Iraq war a national event showing all those bombs exploding like it is a July 4th fireworks.

I don’t get why people freak out so much about Iran getting a nuke. Do you think they would ever use it? Why would people in power want to launch a nuke? They know the instant that nuke goes off, they are dead men. I'm pretty sure they are aware of the type of retaliation that would come their way. People in power don't want to lose that power, and they certainly don't want to die.

I like how "war" almost no longer exists according to our government. Bombing? Not war. Invading? Not war. Occupying? Not war. Drugs? War.

The US foreign policy used to be "walk softly but carry a big stick". Now it is "stomp around in combat boots and carry a big, expensive stick".
