Complete Lack of Leadership, Discipline and Mental Toughness

    Guys,

Been a member for a few years but recently started to post and reply this year - probably due to the promise that Philbin and RT bring - yes, I'm a fan of both.

Gotta tell you I'm not even upset after losing to the Titans. This game was over at halftime.

I did watch the whole game and my initial reaction is that this entire roster is not only void of playmakers but lacks leadership, character and mental toughness. I base this after watching all 9 games this year. There is not one player on this team we can look to and say he's a leader on offense or defense. RT may have that quality but it will take a year or two to see if he has those traits.

What drove this point home for me today was watching our entire team implode today and not giving a ****! No emotion, no fire, nadda. Jake Long smiles each time he gets called for a hold, Sean Smith continues to drop easy interceptions and just shakes his head, I could go on and on....

The roster is full of players used to losing and they seem to be fine with it. Mediocre play has been acceptable in Miami for way too long. This is what Philbin inherited. He won't be able to change that culture in his first season.

Quite frankly, I don't a **** who is the GM next year, but we need to start drafting guys that play with pride and RESPOND when they get punched in the mouth as opposed to crawling into a hole and waiting for the final whistle to blow.

    Blow the roster up!

Only real cure for a losing culture.

I agree with all those choices and add Wake to that list.

I was writing a post like this. This is not a "couple holes" team. This team needs a large change of personnel to get players who refuse to lay down and actually have the mental fortitude to match their talent. I would rather we start this process next year with all our draft pics and cap space than doing it slowly. Please no more Dansbys, Smiths, Longs, etc. that have talent but don't hold themselves or their teammates accountable for the lack of game changing plays this team makes. Lets get young players ready to play hard that do it just for the love of winning. I feel like Philbin needs those types of players as he really isn't a ra ra type guy.

This team quit, pure and simple. I'm not convinced at this point that even the coaching staff should stay.....The Titans are a BAD team and we got ****ing DESTROYED by them. The team didn't show up pure and simple, I'm at a loss of what to think/say right now, this is the most embarrassed I've been since the 62-7 playoff loss to the Jagoffs.

OP sums up a lot of what I've been thinking. If you are going to fill a team with role-player talent, at least get role players with some fight in them.

Very well put. This team has shown alot of fight in them during the season but they lack the compassion and drive to finish off their opponents. Alot of them play with no urgency. They dont have a chief. They're just a bunch of indians. I will continue my support of this team no doubt about it but they are becoming a little redundant.

Are you serious about giving up on the coaching staff in their rookie season? What do you want a revolving door in that spot every year they lose a game? 3 yrs at least should be min for how long a coach can be evaluated. Not change every year, then we'd be stuck in hell forever.
