When Reggie Bush goes somewhere else next season, he will be going back to being the prototype for Darren Sproles. The time is now for putting Bush back where he belongs.
Ironically though, Bush is pretty good inside when there's just a bit of a crease. He is a home-run hitter and that sucks when you just need a single (short yardage). Miami is in love with Daniel Thomas now in passing situations because he is the best blocker and is great when he catches it in space. But Bush is supposed to be the best 'in-space' runner we have. Any other team would put him in the role that the Saints used him in. I don't understand why Miami doesn't just trade him because he'll be gone and he doesn't fit what Miami does.

Bush is not yet a leader IMO. When he comes out and plays big in a game that can get this team over the hump from mediocrity, such as the one at Indy, he'll be a leader at that point.

The leadership on this team isn't established enough to be treating anyone in any certain special way IMO. Things are still in flux at this point. Nobody has attained any "special" status as of yet, and for Philbin to treat anyone that way would put the cart before the horse and circumvent the development of that leadership.

Players need to earn that status, not have it handed to them, and earning it comes by and large from playing well in big games and helping the team develop in significant ways.

Joe Philbin has the development of a 53-man team to cater to first and foremost, not the treatment of any one guy who really hasn't established himself as a leader of that group in any significant way.
Of course he is a team leader. That is ridiculous.

Personally, I don't have a problem with it. It didn't look like we were coming back considering the way the whole team was playing. Save Reggie.

It also makes a statement that regardless of who you are no-one is above the team. Makes everyone understand that everyone is accountable to the outcome and winning.

It's a display of power by Philbin.

Bush shouldn't care, he's getting paid anyway.

There has to be something bigger going on. Bush's carries and overall plays on the field have been trickling every week, even before the fumble. He's our only big play guy on the offense. I really don't understand what's going on. There is absolutely no reason to be using Daniel Thomas like we are. He should be limited to 4 to 5 carries a game and limited time on the field.

Ever since Tanny had the big passing game we have been moving more and more away from the run. Remember we use to just come out and run, run, run? Now running downs are passing downs. I don't like it.

I'd agree. This happened before with the Rams this year (I think it was week 1). Fisher benched S. Jackson in the first quarter when he committed a really dumb penalty around the goal line and they went to the rookie RB for the rest of the game. All I heard were crickets regarding that situation.

If Philbin wanted to make a point, instead of not giving him the ball at all, why not change the capacity in which he is used? We've all clamored for screens, inside slants, curls, "in the flats" type of use out of Reggie. It'd make sense to take him out of the running role and put him into a pseudo-receiving role.
I wonder if Shula sit around trying to figure out what would make all the players happiest?? NO he didn't, he did what was right and let the players deal with it the best they could. Leaders do what is right and let everyone else think what they want. Philbin isn't Shula but he shouldn't be wasting his time worrying about what the players think of his decisions either. He made the decision and thats that. Whether it was the right decision we will never know because we weren't there and don't know what was said, but I for one think it was long overdue. Reggie has been hurting the team more than helping the last 3 games.

The one thing we DO know is that Reggie himself agreed with the benching. Go to miamidolphins.com and watch his interview.

ITs hilarious, They want Reggie to hit the hole that doesn't exist so they get mad if he bounces it out but then they are okay with thomas hitting his linemen that didn't create a hole at the line of scrimmage.

Best part was when Fasano yelled at THOMAS saying BOUNCE THE **** OUT because that **** ran right into fasanos back.

THis team is literally full of pathetic players on offense and at DB. **** Ross and **** that idiot ****land. I dont know why its so damn hard to get 1 damn thing right wiht htis organization. when they fix 1 issue they completely **** up another.

We have spent 5 years investing in olinemen yet EVERY damn offseason we have 1-2 linemen that are leaving as a FA and 2 more holes to fill on the oline that gets spent either via draft or FA.

You are telling me after spending 2 1's, a 2nd, a 4th and a FA pick up on FA you STILL will have 2 holes this coming FA period? **** man someone go take a **** on those 2 love birds ****land and ross. no **** no one lieks going to the games Ross your a ****ign idiot wiht your big ass ears.
Finally, someone finds a way to blame Ross

Daniel Thomas has more positive yards than Reggie in the past two games. Reggie Bush is a well known name but his benching was due to him being inconsistent. DT has been running a lot harder these past couple of weeks and with Lamar getting more carries, its hard envisioning Reggie being resigned with the team.
