    The Truth About Daniel Thomas

The Dude is Awful. No Acceleration. No Burst.

3.4 AVG. Longest Rush in 2 Seasons and 239 Career Attempts is 28 Yards. Holy Cow! 28 Yards. We are always talking about Playmakers. This Dude is not One. He has more injuries and concussions then Touch Downs. Why the Love from the Board for this Dude? He is the worst RB we have period. Lamar Miller looks 100% Better.
Daniel Thomas has a Mangina, the Fumbles too...

2nd Round Bust Man. Michael Egnew could end up being a bigger Bust, if that is possible.

I would call him a disappointment thus far, but I do see his potential. He's had a few runs where he showed off his burst and catching ability. I agree he has not lived up to his draft status yet. He may be one of those runners that needs at least 20 carries to get going. He looked so prominsing the first two games last year. Very frustrating.

DT is what is, but he doesn't lose yardage like RB does.

Getting behind the chains is the kiss-of-death for offense

I wouldn't say plain terrible. I've seen plenty of his nice 20 yard runs get called back because of a holding call, 3 or 4 now. Also he is used more for short yardage than Bush.

Mediocre as hell. Along with Reggie's regression back to being a dancing queen. It's time to get Lamar more carries.

Exactly. If he was some UDFA or late round pick, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with him. He's good for a couple of yards when we need it and would be good when our starting RBs need a rest. He's that type of run-of-the-mill running backs. Unfortunately, I expect more out of high draft picks that cost extra picks to get. Is he that much of an improvement over, say, Lex Hilliard? I'm not sure that he is.

Honestly, I see a lot more hate than love for DT. He's performed as a below average running back in this league. He still runs too high to truly be a bruising back, and he lacks explosiveness and speed. But, he is a threat in the passing game and it's only his second season in the league. Hopefully he gets more involved, but as stagnant as this offense has been, it's no surprise he's been run-of-the-mill. I just wish we could somehow find a gem in the draft, be it at RB like the Bucs did with Doug Martin or find a WR/TE that can open up the field so that DT can be more productive.

Well D*ck, since you asked, players get love from fans because he's on the team. No different than any other team/player/fan.

Thanks again for this wonderful thread of clarity and enlightenment.
